Frequently Asked Question

Answers to questions we get asked a lot

Non resident bank accounts

If you have a non resident bank account in Spain you are required to clarify your tax residency every two years.

If you do not do this, then the bank will suspend your account until it receives the necessary paperwork.

Depending on your bank, you will either be sent a form to complete or you will be charged a small fee to checking against the police register. Please check with your bank. Some banks will not remind you of the need to renew your non residency, and may suspend your account without prior notice.

Depending upon the bank, you may have to submit your latest tax return to prove proof of residency.
