Driving a British car in Spain
By law, all non Spanish plated cars must be replated to Spanish plates if the vehicle spends more than 6 months a year in Spain. You will need to pass an ITV (MOT) to be accepted for Spanish plates, and pay Spanish road tax.
Local Police in the area have recently been cracking down on foreign plated cars, requesting proof of entry into Spain. If you are caught driving a foriegn car while resident in Spain you are liable for confiscation of the car and a hefty fine.
Campers spending the winter onsite with us are generally OK as you can show your campsite receipt to prove you are a tourist.
